((I took control momentarily of Nomics, K'ryn and J'kent. Please don't be upset with me.))
Faizah and K'ryn were already at the West side of the town. It was small, just like the East side, and there were few houses. But they needed to scan the area even more carefully because what few houses there were happened to be shabby and small. Already most seemed to be washed away or under water.
Faizah, knowing that Kain and L'gar had taken the more populice areas of town, had divided her wing into two. She and K'ryn had taken the west while she had sent Nomics and J'kent to the east side. With as few houses as there were it wasn't like they were lacking in power.
Faizah soon saw two people clinging to a large tree branch that was barely floating in the current. Surth dived and scooped them up before returning to the skies with Synth. Faizah kept an eye out while at the same time asking Surth to tell them to climb the ladders and settle themselves into the crate.

Synth hissed as a particularly strong blast of wind pushed at her wings, and she dropped below the angry gust to skim the top of their sector of the town to avoid it. Surth was above, and she'd taken the opportuninty to sweep below his position to assure all the bases were covered.
Nothing so far...K'ryn shouted something to her; exactly what was not important since she easily understood the underlying emotional command to dive. The ghostly-pale green ducked even lower, swerving between a pair of heavy trees to perch on the partially-submerged roof of a house. A teenage boy was clinging to one of the trees, but he looked rather exhausted. K'ryn told Synth to lean in, and as she did so, he used the very base of her neck as a bridge to jump to the trees.
"You! Just hold on! We're here to help."
The boy gave a dazed look at the man working his way up the tree, and the dragon tothe rooftop, and just stared numbly at them.
I think he might be in shock, love. Get him, and we shall bring him. "Yeah..." K'ryn reached the boy'sperch on one of the higher limbs, and carefully tugged at the boys sleeve. The kid whimpered a moment, but didn't have the energy to protest. K'ryn sort of managed to get him to hold on to him, and called Synth to the side of the tree.
The green stretched her forelegs, glancing at the water below. Deep, but calm, for the moment. She waded in a ways, until she was closer to the trees; no way K'ryn could have made it back to her with the boy. Still, she hissed angrily at the cold as she made it to her partner. K'ryn just thanked her profuseley and dropped onto her shoulders, tying the young man to her back with the spare riding straps and securing himself behind. Synth grumbled a response and clawed her way baxck onto the roof, waiting there a moment to assure there were no others she could make out before leaping back into the skies.
Another few quick searches of the surrounding houses revealed no others but one; an elderly man who had, unfortunately, already passed on. K'ryn mumured his sympathies as the passed over so Synth could retreive the body, and he ran a hand along the boy's arm. No response. He was still alive, but the cold was doing him no good and he was obviously in shock.
Surth! Relay to yours and the others that we must deliver this man to the Weyr! We will be back shortly. Already, K'ryn was making a mental marker ofthe location so they could return here. Synth spiraled upwards in the rain, and, after a careful warning to the boy, who again didn't respond, they blinked between.

J'kent clung to Marith's slim green neck, his face mostly covered by a thick cap. The wind was strong, and the clouds and rain had obsured any light source that might of helped him and Nomics do their part in this rescue. Being in such a storm was dangerous, even if you were aloft on the dragon that could outfly anythang. Of course, J'kent and Marith both knew that that was not the case with them. However, they would do as was ordered by the Weyrwoman and Weyrleader.
Minelove, I believe I see something, but it is difficult to say. The green dragon pointed with her snout toward a flooded house with a wraparound porch, and sure enough several people were there.
There was an elderly couple, each of which clutched at several children, most of which were sobbing and screaming. Good, dearest! Tell Nomics and Yurith. You doing it would be easier and better understood in this gale!
Quickly, Marith relayed the message. Yurith. We found a larger group of townspeople. They are there, she said, giving him a mental image of the home. Without waiting for a answer from the younger bronze, she surged forward.
Carefully winging herself down through the trees, Marith came as closer to the home as possible, as close to the family. Finaly, she folded her wings, landing carefully in the swirling, murky water. Jumping down and hurrying toward them, J'kent heard one of the children scream as he caught sight of the rider and dragon. As the others turned around quickly, the others started to scream as well, even louder than before. Inwardly, he winced.
"Please, I'm trying to help you! Come with me, and we'll bring you to safety!" he yelled to them, struggling to be heard over the rainy torrents.

The thoughts in Tad's mind were, well...not very nice. None of them.
He was trapped on the porch of an abandoned house, and considering trying the roof. He was, however, unsure that it would hold his substantial weight. On the other hand, if he did not try, he was likely to be swept away. He might drown, as strong as he was.
And he saw no escape. The rising waters were going to claim him, one way or another. Short of the army or...
Swimming for it was likely his only chance. Then he saw...something. Something in the air. The largest bird he had ever seen in his life was descending. No. "What the hell?"
It looked like...honestly, it absolutely, utterly, looked like nothing less than or other than a dragon.

[OOC: I'm not sure which part is closer to Rocky Weyr. Hopefully I'm in the right section.]
As Guin got drenched in rain, he could hear the gurgling waters of the flood as it passed by what once used to be a beautiful two-story house and the place that he had known for all his life. He looked about himself trying to discern if he could do something about saving himself. Thankfully, he knew how to swim, but he wasn't going in the waters unless it was the last resort. He knew about the dragons living in Rocky Weyr because he accompanied his father during the times that his father went to the Weyr. Guin looked up in the sky hoping to find a dragon brave enough to venture in the horrid storm.

The two other had managed to get into the crate, and Faizah nodded when K'ryn and Synth returned to the Weyr momentarily. She and Surth continued to soar through the town, just above the roofs of several abandoned houses. Then she saw someone, sitting atop the roof of and unseen house. She told Surth where, and he halted, hovering over the person. Please get into the crate. We are here to help you. Surth told the person on Faizah's request.

And as if God had heard his fervent wish, Guin saw the white hide of a dragon descending near him against the dark sky. He saw that the dragon was carrying a crate and even as he deduced what the crate was for, he heard a voice within his head.
'Please get into the crate. We are here to help you.' the voice said to him. Guin felt honored at the contact from the dragon. He was definitely sure who the voice came from since the rider astride the dragon definitely looked female and the voice he had heard was definitely not a female's.
With a shout of gratitude, though the howling winds took the sound away before it could be heard by the dragon or the rider, Guin stepped into the crate and hung on tight. He was in for a ride of his life.

Faizah could swear there was something about him that was familiar, but she could not place it. She cursed herself before asking Surth. Do you recall where that boy seems familiar from?Surth said no, unable himself to place the boy. But he did one step more than Faizah could, and asked him. Mne believes she knows you from somewhere. What is your name?

After Guin made himself as comfortable as he could inside the crate while still holding on for dear life, he was distracted from his worries when he heard that voice again in his mind.
'Mine believes she knows you from somewhere. What is your name?' said the dragon.
Looking up, he replied to the dragon pair. "I'm Guin. Guin Yukimura. I used to accompany my father when he visited the Weyr for physical check-ups of the new immigrants from Pern." shouting out loud for the wind was howling and rain was pelting him like hale. Guin also tried to send his answer via telepathy but he was not sure if he had that ability. Sure he could hear the dragon fine, but would the dragon be able to hear his thoughts?
After Guin replied, he was also racking his brain trying to remember who the dragon and his rider was. He was sure he had met them before but couldn't quite remember. After all, he had been more fascinated by the Whers than by the Dragons that came to Earth from Pern. He did hope that the dragon would introduce himself and his rider so that Guin would be able to give them a proper thanks after he was rescued from the storm.

And...what were those...things? Tad's eyes turned into saucers as he stared upwards.
Above him, in the skies, were what looked like nothing less than western dragons. Wings, two pairs of limbs, long tails. Dragons did not exist. Was he dreaming? He pinched himself. Either it was a very vivid dream...and he had heard of people having dreams so vivid the pinch test did not work...
...or he was awake and looking up in the sky at...dragons.
Dragons that had...riders on them? He stood up on the porch at that and waved his arms like an air marshall. "Hey! Hey! Down here!"
If the dragons could carry riders, they could get him to safe ground. And as he got over the shock of seeing them...they were beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. He saw a white one and a green one.
He hoped he was not dreaming. Or, worse, drowning, and this his dying hallucination. If it was, at least he had come up with a good one.

She mentally smacked herself in the forehead for her forgetfullness. Guin! Of course! I remember now... Faizah said to Surth. She asked Surth to tell Guin who they were, in case he was having the same memory loss she was having. I am white Surth, and Mine is Faizah Pandora, Weyrwoman of Rocky. Surth told the boy. He turned his attention back to Faizah. We need to back. I can not carry any more passengers currently.Faizah nodded and gave Surth the coordinates back to the Weyr.
