Pernese Art-ing

Can I get some opinions on this? Not on the art, but mostly on the do-you-think-this-guy-looks-pernese-enough side of the scale.

Keep in mind, it's supposed to be Skirth (a big ol' brown) so his proportions are a little stockier than how I'd depict a blue/green, and his limbs are slightly longer and leaner than how I'd draw those of a Bronze, and he looks very little like a Gold, I think.

(IMHO, Blues have thinner bodies and narrow wings for agility, Greens with leaner muzzles and slightly rounder and broader wings- think sparrowlike- and browns have shorter more saurian muzzles, and deeper chests and eagle-like wings- the tanks of the chromatic dragons, while bronzes are wolflike, with elegant lines, but still the shorter and more saurian necks and muzzles, and golds are sleek and elegant, with longer muzzles and even proportions.)

ANYway. Headknobs- I am a little displeased with them, and I'm not even sure how they turned out curved. Oh well.
Neck Ridges- Look alright to me.

His forefeet are going to be kind of hand-like (4 fingers and a demi-thumb) and his hind feet with four toes. (Kind of like a cat.)
His wings will also be pentadactyl- four fingers connecting the membrane, and a vestigial thumb with a much smaller membrane allowing for movement of that digit. And obviously a forked tail.

Spock will look the same, only with a longer tail, and tridactyl wings and feet.

Ignore the sketchiness of Liam for the time being. Opinions if you all would be so kind? (Pass for Pernese?)

Bahh..you're so much better at anatomy than I am. xD And even from the pale sketch I can see you can draw humans pretty well.. a skill that has defiantly eluded me.. >>

Anyways, I like the proportions for the most part. Anne herself said that the back legs should be big and powerful, while the front were shorter and fairly lean, making the dragons/flits have a silly little hop-skip walk to them. :3 I think you captured that well.

The neck should definitely be thick for a big brown, but it looks a little too thick at the top, for my tastes. The neck ridges are also very nice, but they should extend down the neck a little further, since riders sit between the second to last and one above the shoulder.

The head knobs I find, would be rather straight and cylindrical, with a slight lip at the top. The ones you have there look a bit more like horns. However your placement is perfect.

Anne says that the dragons have horse-like heads, which makes me feel like they'd have larger nostrils, very important for sucking in large amounts of air while flying.

The last thing is that I'm fairly sure the hind feet have three toes, instead of four.

It is muy sexy, red.
I like me some big beefy dragons, so i like the way his head looks. But I'm also kind of anal on what my critters end up looking like.
So I prefer critters based off real-life. My dragons always end up looking (in my head, since I have NO art skills) like dinosaurs, or occasionally a cat/horse hybrid.

Okay...more ridged, slimmer neck. Possibly bigger nostrils? (Hmm.) And yeah...I have NO idea what happened with his headknobs. I need to fix that. Three toes on feets, five in hands? Eh. And ...flits are three-toed on all feets.

Waffles: Cat-dragons! I have some of those. Well...one. She's cute, though...and eerily like your cat/horse hybrid...stay out of my head!
And...big lumbery, dinosaur-y ones, and snaky, cobra-like ones. (heehee. That one is fun. His colors are crazy.)

I have read only 3 1/2 of the Pern books, so I wouldn't know much about how they look. But I love how you drew it! ^^
also, would you be willing to draw mine? I am very patient so procrastinateing is fine on my watch. And normally I like my dragons to have big and bulky powerful bodies with serpintine necks and elegant, wedge shaped heads. Freaky looking in words but beautiful in my mind. ^-^

(Cobra? Iiiinteresting. I honestly never thought of snakelike ones except for Oriental/Asian dragons. And psh. You know my eerie telepathic powers allow me to sneak into yo' brain when you're sleeping.)

No, not like Oriental or Chinese. Not snakelike in anything except the long and flexible neck. Have you seen the Eragon books with Saphira and Thorn on the cover? I'm thinking necks like that. And if you can sneak into my mind as I sleep then you can see what I'm talking about! ^^
