Venus.
In Ancient Rome, Venus had been the goddess of love, lust, and beauty. Now, modern astromer's had taken this name and put it to a planet they thought would suit it. In Ancient Greece, she had been called Aphrodite. A good name, HerAlex had thought, but it lacked what she thought was class. Aphrodite, after all, was a bit long and showy. Venus, on the other hand, was perfect. Why do you think she'd name her little beauty that if it wasn't?
Now, though, her Mistress's will had no hold. A beautiful evening twilight was covering the land. Most males out here had eaten their meal of meat already, if not all of them. Not that she cared. She was ready to do something she hadn't done previously. Something new and exciting.
If only the Venus of ancient lore could see her now.
The beautiful, flirtatious green flit raised her head from where she lay in one of the last dazzling patches of sunlight on the reflecting rocks of the mountains she had begun to call home. Her eyes whirled red with lust and desire. It was time to fly.
She spread her wings and stretched her slender body before letting out a delicate, flirtaious thrill and launching herslef between. Where was she to go....There were beautiful streams, and mountains all over, all around. But that couldn't be right. She deserved to be seen. She didn't care who was to see her.
She popped into the Weyrbowl.
There was a lone rabbit nosing around near her and made the mistake of not running fast enough. She graped it firmly, her delicate homeliness betraying her strength and will. She thrilled again, calling only the best to her. The best, the best, and nothing but the best.
Once they were near, she would begin. She would begin in the strangest was, in the strangest place.
Her chase would be in the Weyr.

Blue Hobbs
Hobbs was a blur in the forest, hunting. A blue dart here, a blue dart there. A streak of blue beneath your feet. He was out hunting his favorite food. Why? Because His had denied him any food in which he ate. Said that Hobbs needed to get out from under his hands. So Hobbs was hunting. Squirrels.
He loved the little things. Fast and quick, with that strange little bushy tail. And the meat was sweet. Just the way he liked.
Hobbs had just downed one when he heard the irrisistable call of a green rising. His head shot up, and he trilled to himself. He then clamped his mouth to the dead squirrel and blooded it. He looked around, but there wasn't anything else around, so he would have to make due with the one. He then jumped up, climbed the tree until he reached a good take off limb, and took the skies.
He found the gorgeous green in the 'bowl. It was Venus, and she was glowing gloriously. He would chase her. He would win. Hobbs was determined of that.
As he waited for other suitors to come, Hobbs trilled lightly, trying to get the attention of the beautiful Venus. He had alighted upon a rock a small distance from her, his wings half unfurled in readiness for her to take the skies, and his eyes whirling the colors of lust.
Brown Darwin
Darwin was curled up comfortably on His' bed, watching her read a scroll. The little green, Freya, suddenly rose her head and looked about at the same time a rising green's call came to his ears. She trilled questioningly, but he just snapped at her as he went between[/]. He found himself in the weyrbowl.
Before him was the glowing figure of the glamorous Venus. And he made up his mind at that moment that he would chase her. He was only slightly regretful that he had eaten himself dizzy that morning.
Darwin landed to the left of the gleaming Venus, furling his wings in as gracefully as he could. He resting upon his hind legs, ready to use their strength to fling himself into the skies when Venus took off. He glanced to the right where a blue was. The Weyrleader's blue. Darwin knew he could outperform the blue. That was going to be the easy part of this chase.
((Sorry for the failz...))

Blue Loki
Loki had been sunning himself contentedly on HisGregory's Jadavath. Although the Green had huffed and shifted her position, she had made no effort to throw him off. For that Loki was grateful. Loki was looking for HisGregory. HisGregory had promised a good rub later for behaving while he was oiling the BigCousin.
Crooning at the thought of HisGregory's gentle hands oiling him down, Loki rolled over a little and let his softly whirling eyes shine green with blue creeping in at the edges. Nothing could make the Blue more happy than he was now. At least that was what the Blue thought until he heard the unmistakably flirtatious trill of a Green Rising.
With a swift movement the tiny flit snapped to attention and flapped his wings a little so that he hovered over the head of his BigJadavath. The Green wasn't too far away. From his vantage point, Loki could tell the shining Green was Venus. She looked ready and waiting to go, and it wasn't like the Blue to keep a lady waiting.
Trilling his own call, Loki let the Green know that he too would join the Chase, and that he did not plan on backing down to his larger Brown brother or his fellow Blue.

Venus.
In ancient lore, she had been known to attact all types of males to her, like a hummingbird to the most beautiful, sweet flower there was. She took advantage of her splendid beauty to shame other women with their own ugliness. She took revenge whenever she didn't get what she wanted or when a mortal would attempt to shame her.
Hah, how upsetting this must look compared to that Venus.
Only three Chasers? Pathetic. And two of them were Blues; the other was a timid Brown that she remembered quite clearly. She agreed with HerMistressAlex and BigCousinPrettyEturynth. Blues were quite possibly the worst color to be, save for whites possibly. Thinking of HerClutchMateBlueGoof, she very nearly shuddered. A thing like that to Catch her? That would be a nightmare come true!
But it seemed as if it didn't matter. With another trill, she leapt into the ir, away frm the blooded bodies of the squirrels. She circled them, flicking each with her tail before zooming away with a sudden burst of speed, entering the Weyr's shadowy depths. They could only hope to Chase her there. Where first. The weyrs; she had no doubt that some people would be there.
((Anyone wanna volunteer some characters to watch?! lol))

Blue Hobbs
Hobbs was the first one into the air after Venus. The flick of her tail across his chest was an effective tease. Did he care where he was leading her? Of course not! Hobbs was determined to win and catch this most lovely of greens.
He put on a burst of speed to keep up with her, keeping a distance of a few inches between himself and her, while flying slightly to her left side. He wanted to be able to discourage the other suitors, a brown and blue, from Venus while having enough room to manuever. Especially with the chase happening in the weyr itself.
Brown Darwin
Darwin was already behind. The dratted blue had beaten him into the skies. But Darwin wasn't going to let those blues win. Venus deserved much more than lowly blues.
Darwin worked his wings to catch up. He stayed a little further behind than he should have, but he wanted room to move. He also didn't want to waste any energy. If he could outlast the blues, it would show Venus that he was the best. He was a brown, known for stamina. Not a silly blue that would waste all his energy in the first few moments of the chase.
Darwin, as he trailed behind both green Venus and blue Hobbs, trilled to the irrisistable green. He trilled a soothing song to her as he saved his strength.

Loki twirled and watched the Green with an almost critical eye before finally giving chase. The small Blue had seen the way Venus had looked at her suiters. Loki wasn't sure he would like Venus on a normal day when he was with HisGregory or HisGregory'sJadavath, but the Green was shining in a way that made all of those minor details hover in the background away from his simple mind.
Hanging back, Loki studied his competitors for a moment before zipping through the air after them and the Green. Loki liked to fancy himself a smart flit, and sought to look for small advantages to exploit rather than blindly jumping the gun. When he saw that Venus was entering the Weyr, he beat his wings faster. Perhaps by taking the sharp turns in the Weyr's halls at ridiculous speeds would impress the Green, but Loki wanted to do more than simply impress Venus. He wanted to win her.
~I volunteer any of my characters. If you want, you can even mention the flits entered any of my character's rooms. Gregory's room night be fun for them. Lots of obstacles, like chandeliers.~

Venus.
The legendary lady had been chased and admired by all men, for each saw her as a different woman, whoever they percieved to be the most beautiful in the world, but more than that for she was a Goddess. They had each fallen for her, one by one, and eventually children came forth, daughters that were beautiful as well and were just as wickedly sedductive.
She would have been proud if she had seen the young, glowing Venus of today.
Tossing her head over her shoulder and looking for only a moment at the Chasers behind her, she trilled again and veered away from he wider halls suddenly so that she could enter the more narrow halls that were seldomly used. No dust hung in the air nor on the smooth floors, but the air was stale. the angles in the walls and the sharp turns that were suddenly made forced her to concentrate on her flight, and once she even grazed a corner, lifting away a bit of her delicate hide. She quickly decided she didn't like this area, spitting with her displeasure. But she had to perservere. If she turned back now, the would be caught. However, as soon as she found an open door, she sped through it and ended up in one best are there was. The corridor where they were was the one were the weyrlings were assigned rooms.
Which one would she enter? she wondered. Not HerAlex's and LovelyBigEturynth's room, and she didn't like that one, no it wouldn't work, but what about....
One of the doors were partly open and through it she saw the perfect room, full of things were she could flp and fly through, where it would be hard for her followers to follow. There was only one drawback she decided. The last Blue to arrive, Loki his name was, this was his room, where His and HisBigCousin stayed. He would have an advantage.
But did she care? No, not really, not at the moment. She had reviewed what she knew of these Chasers, and from their actions determined that Loki was wary, or seemed so. He knew to pace himself, as the other did not. Darwin was sure of himself for once instead of timid and shy and scared. But would he pass hose traits on? Maybe. Anyway, he was the highest ranking there, second only to herself. Hobbs was the BigbronzeInCharge's and InChargeMan's. He could give her a boost in rank if she chose him. But he didn't pace himself and instead seemed to be determined to stick to the swiftly moving Green instead.
So she dove inside. Maybe she would lose Hobbs, maybe not. Maybe Loki would win her for he had the advantage of his home. Maybe Darwin would become even more sure and continue on. Maybe she could change him a little....
All very thought occupying thoughts. And of course, she was to occupied at the moment already. So she expelled those and concentrated soley on the Flight before her. Her wings had begun to ache dully with each wingstroke and she knew that soon she would have to choose. But not yet. Not for another few minutes.

Blue Hobbs
His body aquiver, he followed after Venus. He was determined to win this chase, despite his rapidly tiring body. He twisted and turned to try and cut off both the brown and other blue and keep them from impressing the beloved green.
They entered a personal weyr. Hobbs, still attempting to stop the other chasers, almost flew directly into an unseen tapestry. He clung to the fabric, getting his bearings. He managed to jump from the tapestry and back into the chase, but he had lost his position behind the glorious green.
Brown Darwin
Darwin remained calm, even as Venus turned into Loki's personal weyr. He knew the blue had the advantage here, but Darwin wasn't going to give up his newfound confidence. He would win Venus. That was that.
Darwin trilled in fire lizard humor as Hobbs nearly crashed. Darwin could use this oppurtunity to impress the glamorous green Venus. He made sure he knew were the obstacles were, then jumped into action.
Darwin sped past Venus, trying to turn as he past her. His hind legs hit the wall and he used it to push himself forward. Then Darwin turned himself and began a corkscrew spin, right through the hanging crystals of the chandelier. It gave a nice chime as he past, spreading his wings and backflapping to slow himself. Again his hindlegs hit the wall and again he used it as a pushboard. He flew back to Venus, this time flying confidently over her.

Loki would have grinned if he had been able. Venus had entered his home. He had the advantage. The other fire-lizards would be stumbling about and crashing into things, but Loki had already mastered the sharp turns and calculated all the places to maneuver here. With a surge of confidence and bragger, Loki twirled into the weyr and flipped lightly over one of the creaky, cracky chairs that were comfortable to curl up next to HisGregory in. Then without hesitation, the Blue zoomed between the other chairs before flitting up and over the tinkling chandelier the his competitor had disrupted.
The crystals of the hanging ornament caught the light of the glowing fire and Loki used that to his advantage. He flicked his wings so that the light caught them and glitters sparkled down his hide and wings. After an appropriate amount of time, Loki rolled over and flipped under a table only to zip out from underneath it on the other side and twirl impressively, the light behind him causing his hide to gleam darkly in shadow.
Confident in his skills at navigating, Loki whipped back into position behind the Green with the full intent on claiming her.

Venus.
Had this lady of love ever been forced to choose someone? Had she ever been caught and claimed by someone against her will? Aphrodite had, at least. She had been forcefully married to the god of fire and metalworking, Hephastus, who was her father's favored suitor no matter his horrible deformities. But she had shunned him, favoring Ares, the god of war and bloodshed. Fitting, don't you think? All is fair in love and war.
Did Darwin truly belive he would claim her while she was still flying? Did he think he would take her while there was still others to be seen that would chase her? That was chasing her?
I don't think so!
She had watched Darwin's manuevering with a glittering eye, though with what still couldn't be guessed. Yes, it was definately a fine and careful flight he had done here, since this was yet a unknown front to him. Not even her knew how to fly properly in here. Only Loki was able to do so. And he did, flying lightly and professionally over chairs and tables and other things, but had circled amost the chandeleir, causing the lights to cast sparkling specks across his blue hide.
She was ready to choose Darwin, and would have, if he had not decided to fly close above her. She hissed and flipped upside down in a practiced motion and dug her sharp claws into Darwin's wing, raking it and giving him long gouges. She used him as a jumping board then, her head still turned toward him, her eyes a fierce bright red of both anger and lust. She didn't watch where she was going.
She flew into Loki where he was waiting. She froze, stiffened, and crooned at Loki, now ignoring the other Blue that had fallen beind when she entered this weyr and the Brown that was the highest ranking flit here and the most foolish. Loki was the one she wanted.
And Venus, after all, always got what she wanted in the end.

Loki gave a fire-lizard grin and returned Venus's soft croon. Tipping his body towards her, Loki embraced the magnificent Green he had chased midair. HisGregory's weyr didn't leave much room for a tumble, so Loki did his best and managed to align with Venus just right so that they could fly a little instead of just falling towards the floor.
Trilling, Loki let the Green know just how pretty she was and just how grateful he was at being chosen by her.
~Sorry it's so short, but I haven't been able to get on in awhile, and my mind wasn't really in it. I would have waited to post, but it seemed like you had waited long enough.~
