I know we've reached the limit on flits ar Rocky...just wanted to double check and be sure that meant for created characters too?

No more allowing Earth candidates to have stumbled across a wild fire-lizard clutch?

Or are we still able to do that...I had an idea involving that sort of thing, so I wanted to ask. It could easily be changed too, to be an existing flit of one of my other chars...

Secondly, would a slightly less than okay young man be an alright candidate? I was toying with the idea of someone finidng him about to try to commit suicide off a cliff outside Rocky and bringing him to the Weyr...but it wouldn't be something too awful. Just...he's a lost kid, terrified of life and overwhelmed, and stuff. Possibly kind of a screw-up too, with a less than stellar history and a problem with drug abuse...

But overall he'd just kind of be a kid who's F***ed up. Able to turn his life around and whatnot, and that'd be why he stays at Rocky?
(The flit was a part of this idea too...)

And lastly, and entirely on a different subject, I'm making a character as a bribe to drag Waffs back to amuse me, and wanted to know what the Pernese opinion of a crossdresser would be? Just...don't question it, really.

If it is going to be for Rocky Weyr, then yes, the only flit you can have is through Impression. However, if it is going to be for Isle Weyr, your character can have a flit without having to wait for a Flit Hatching. Then again, you could always make one of your existing flits be treated badly enough or neglected enough to make it want to look to another person entirely. *shrugs*

In my opinion, you could be mentally unstable as long as you are physically whole. Your bond with your dragon will make you stable enough to not want to kill yourself.

As for a cross-dressing Pernese, I don't think that's probable. Sure there are male Greenriders but they don't get to know about their sexual tendency until after they have been Impressed. Besides, the Pernese society would never think or tolerate a man who cross-dresses. And if he did, he'd probably be shunned by everyone and denied that he even existed. And since Pern is a bartering society, one would find it hard to bend the rules of society if one want to live in comfort, unless one is Holdless and doesn't give a Shard about the rules of society. *shrugs* If you are asking how they'd behave when faced with someone who cross-dresses, I have no real clue. *shrugs*

But these are jut my opinions regarding the matter. I don't know what Faizah or Phazzy thinks or feels about your intended Candidate.

ALSO I LIED> My candidate is severely damaged, but he should still be okay...he's pretty much given up all hope on life and tried to off himself twice...run away from home, bad drug abuse, yadda yadda. But a very grumpy rider catches him and brings him to the Weytr (mostly because he's not breathing...) and asks if he can stay because the dragon thinks even being around Rocky would help the kid heal...

and maybe, if they deem him okay enough by the end, he can try to impress later- but he has to work for it.

I was going to mention that the Pernese wouldn't let a mentally unstable person stand for a hatching, then I realize that isn't what you're asking. I can see that happening. As Houka mentioned, I would guess that the bond with a dragon would keep them from committing suicide... Not to mention the fact that if one dies, the other will kill themselves. So unless said candidate really doesn't like their dragon I don't see a problem with it...

OKAY EDITS: Yeah. I see what you mean. He'd have to work for it. A dragon is incentive enough to work at not being suicidal anymore. XD But yeah. I think we can see how that would go. -nod-

And I share Houka's views on crossdressing, though I'm having doubts about it. I want to say it wouldn't matter as much... If they didn't know. ;D But he's a cross-dresser... So he's not exactly gold dragon material, meaning he'd end up with a green, and that'd be okay (because no one likes greens on Pern. :V). But Houka does make good points, so I think it's safe to say we can use that and say that the Pernese won't be too fond about a cross-dresser.

AND BY THE WAY: I just had a sudden vision of Hy'ka trying to cheer up your little angstmuffin. And failing. ._.
