My Abandonment and Terrible Loyalty

Ooookay.

So i know people don't have a high opinion of my absences and semi-activity as of late, so here's the thing.

My fall semester is killing me right now, and with College kicking my butt the way it is, I obviously have to do more with keeping my grades up than keeping up with my forums. Sorry guys...

So what I want to do is try to give up/weed out some of my characters.
Obviously, I will very soon have to give up my goldrider. The Weyr needs an active gold, and I have no right to bogart a gold slot when I'm such an infrequent roleplayer.

What I'd like to do, if possible, is have her rise/clutch at least ONCE under my control, if at all possible, and then either give her up as an adoptable character if anyone wants her, or do something to get her wiped out. (Have her die, send her back to Pern, or just retcon that she was never actually there.)

I also want to resign Kye from his position as wherlingmaster... that, I shall handwave off as something. or he's just a lazy ass like that.

As for my other characters...I want to keep a FEW. K'ryn will stay, as likely will Shinji, but to keep it easy, i will probably get rid of/adoptable-out the others. I have to make a final decision on that, but...

Yeah. just wanted that out there officially. I'll be around, but not too greatly. In and out as I have time...(I'd say I'll be on more once I finish with Finals, but family and a job for the holidays will likely wipe me out there too.)

Well, it's good to see you post but, I'm really sorry to hear that life is being hectic for you. Still, I understand, college can be like that.

Anyways, here are my opinions for your characters. If you really want to make Fayeth rise and clutch, then that's fine. Just be sure that you'll actually have time to RP the mating flight in a timely manner. Then, after she has her hatching, just have her die out or maybe the Staff can kill her off for you. (Probably due to her over exerting herself and her asthma kicks in.) It's just that, if it's a gold, I think folks would want to have created the goldrider themselves. It's hard to take over someone's character. *shrugs*

As for Kye and Kyesk, I guess laziness would work out and Kain asks Kye to step down from his position and assign a new one to take the job as Wherlingmaster. I don't really know what you want to do with Kye and Kyesk after they are no longer the Wherlingmaster. Maybe they go back to Pern and someone else from Pern also with a bronze wher is sent to Rocky. *shrugs* Or, it could also be because he's trying to follow after Riley and Risk.

Maybe for Riley and Risk, Riley's father, Lord Raiden finally forgives him for bonding to a wher and they are now welcome to go back to Pern. And since Risk doesn't have any defects, the pair agrees to go back. Kye hears of this and asks the Rocky Leaders to be let go of his position to follow his beloved Riley back to Pern. *shrugs* Likewise, Pern sends someone else back to Rocky with a brown wher. *shrugs*

For A'shan and Blue Azulith, maybe A'shan finally remembers his past and... hmm, don't really know afterwards what he'll do. Or maybe something happens to Azulith and A'shan couldn't take it anymore and does something drastic. *shrugs*

For Lorelie, Blue Jezereth and her flock of flits, since I don't see Blue Jezereth having any defects, maybe they were sent back to Pern to help with Threadfall. *shrugs*

In the end, it's all up to you what you really want to do with your characters, but these are just my suggestions with what can happen to them and how they'll be replaced or killed off. *shrugs*

Sorry to hear about that, Waffles, but it's completely understandable. -nods-

Regarding Fayeth, if she does clutch, then we can't really say that she didn't exist, so that's out. ;P But yes, I have no problem with you running one Flight with her, and sticking around for the clutch/hatching. I don't know about the rest of the staff, but I'm feeling that I'd like to take her off your hands to keep under the Staff's control once that's done, then maybe adopt her off in the future.

And when are you planning to have her Rise? Because I'm working on setting up a bronzerider creating contest, and I want to give everyone ample time to create one, then roleplay them a bit before the Flight. I think I'll need about four weeks for the contest. Three for the running of it, then one to read entries and judge. But like Houka said, be sure that you have time to devote to it, and you can finish the Flight in a timely manner.

Houka mentioned ideas for your characters, but you don't have to decide right away what you want to do with them... Just saying. Kye can step down/be asked to step down, because I like that. I figure Kain or Faizah would have something to say about his laziness.

But yeah. I don't really have any other ideas, and Houka's mentioned the common one of sending a character back to Pern, instead of killing them off, if you'd rather not do that. -nods-

Yeah...I'd still have to decide on what to do with everyone...I'm just incredibly uninspired for my wherhandlers at the moment...I like Houka's idea for them at the moment, but it very much depends.

I can wait a good deal of time to rise Fayeth, definitely. It might be a teeny bit easier later, even...
If you want to take her, be my guest, but if anything, and she DOES clutch, you could always adopt her off as just Fayeth...let anyone create a rider for her? Just basically keep the name/defect should it even be needed. I can totally understand people preferring their own characters rather than adoptables.

UM. Yes. Having more bronzes would be nice because there's no way Shinji and Wrath will be around at all. Nope...not his sister.

By the way, when I say I want to take her off your hands, I mean instead of passing her off to a member who wants her right away, I'm thinking she could become a site NPC for a set period of time. Then probably adopted off to a member who wants her. And yes, we can do that, where Fayeth and her defect stays, but the member can create the rider.

Hm. How does the end of November/beginning of December sound to you? Or any time after that? I'm thinking the contest will be over by the 22nd of November, meaning the winners will be announced, and then the members should be given some time to roleplay and get in the mindset of their character. -nods-

And we shall definitely have more bronzes. Not to mention with a gold clutch, there will be bronze hatchlings... ;D

Hmm. I suppose someday forthwith i shall definitely get rid of my characters but for the three I spoke of...

K'ryn, Shinji and Miyuki will stick around, but I have to get rid of the others. i can't keep up, despite my love for them.
And despite my love, i have no interest in really playing them...augh. I choose to say...at least A'shan will go bak to Pern, getting his memory back and stuff, and possibly Lorelei will follow him, just because she likes him and wants to study dragons and stuff. (And jerezeth has no defect...but I feel kinda bad throwing off Jereaeth. he was neat.)

The wherhandlers are just ...uninspiring. I'm sorry. I was inspired for them when i made them, but I am apparently not too fond of whers. I may possibly keep Kye around a bit...but...yeah.
