More Intimate Relationships?

Just trying this out... I want to get my characters into some relationships, because no one else wants to take that chance with their characters. However, I have a few requirements... First, the characters below are the only ones open for a relationship. Second, I don't have anything in mind for how I want the relationship to play out, other than a general idea. Third, I'd like to actually roleplay the relationship between characters... Like some cuddling, or maybe them hanging out on a 'date' so to speak.

» I'm seeing a loving relationship with Hy'ka... I can see him curling up and laying his head in his lover's lap.
» I know he's in a relationship with H'vas at the moment, but he's Pernese, and very open to relationships because of Mating Flights. Thus, he doesn't want to be in a committed relationship where he has to be faithful to only that person (aka H'vas).

» He's a sadist... That's your first and only warning before you think about throwing a character at him.
» He's probably looking for someone with a tolerance to pain... So that he can have his way with them, with minimal complaining. And by 'have his way' I'm not implying sexual acts, though that certainly can be implied if you wish to take it down that route.

Of those four, I'm leaning towards Hy'ka and Evander more, though I'm going to send something to Wolfy about H'vas to see how that works, so in that case, Lawrence is taking Hy'ka's place.

Any ideas or characters?

I have Shasta who im looking to put in a relationship with somebody... She's really sweet. She cares about people, but is quite timid. i dont know if you'd like her for any of your characters, but she's available =3

Proboards has already locked us out once for mature material. I don't think we can go past first base.

I could sort of see Tiffanie 'stalking' Evendar, but they both have very young dragons...

Hmm... I was under the impression that Weyrlings were prohibited from intimate relationships. Not until the dragonets are old enough or have participated in a mating flight will intimate relationships be allowed and only with permission from the Weyrlingmaster. At least that's what I know from my experience playing in other DRoP RPGs from before. Then again, we are on Earth so rules here may not be as strict as on Pern, who knows. *shrugs*

Oh I definitely don't mean actually roleplaying any of that. I'm not comfortable with that. When I said 'intimate' I meant a romantic relationship past a friendship... If that makes any sense. If not, just know that I'm not going to go against Proboards TOS.

Liam and Z'volm? I rather intentionally made Liam kind of a huge, brooding...puppy. He's ...kind of odd, and would probably actually be just enough of a masochist to almost enjoy tormenting Z'volm because he half enjoys the pain. Also, he's sort of got no backbone. Such a pushover...

Otherwise...um. Tag's really lonely and still a little pissed off at the universe, but...he's around.

And I said Ember would be happy to stalk Evander a little. She's pushy enough to corner him too.

And...R'ner is lonely and bored. He might like Hy'ka...or he might just like to be an asshat to Z'volm. He'd be...amused by Z'volm and the ensuing abuse.

And I still want Gideon to meet Lawrence.

I would love to throw Lakeen at Lawrence. She's a nice girl, knows what she wants but doesn't push unless made to. I think it would make for some interesting RPing at least.

And for Z'volm... I think N'lon would make an interesting relationship with your sadist green rider. N'lon is kind of a masochist. Yeah... That's reminds me that I have to finish his and La'as profiles...

Samari: How would dragon color make a difference...? ._. But I'm very curious as to your idea now. XD As for Tahli... I dunno who she'd be best with... Z'volm's out since he's homosexual, but I guess my other characters are open, if you have a preference.

Phyr: You mentioned Shasta's sweet and cares about people... Perhaps Lawrence? He's the one that needs a tender hand, and Shasta might be able to offer that, though it does depend on how the subject is approached, and whether or not Lawrence will scare her off with his gruffness.

Reine: I think a little friendly stalking would be interesting. XD Evander's met Tiffanie briefly already, so I can see them interacting more.

Houka: Evander's a virgin... He's not about to throw himself at the first person who offers. XD However, I believe it's mentioned in the procreation guide that female weyrlings are encouraged to lose their virginity before their dragon Rises, simply because of the brutality that a Flight can provide. It's in the fifth paragraph under 'The Flight.' Yet, I do believe it is frowned upon for weyrlings so early after Impression, because the emotions that are associated with it.

Red: I can see Z'volm and Liam getting together just to tick off Tag. And Z'volm knows about it, and continues to stick around Liam because he likes that Liam tolerates his odd fetishes, but also because it makes Tag jealous. XD

Lawrence needs to meet Gideon, yes. -marks down- Must do that eventually.

And R'ner/Hy'ka/H'vas love triangle... And ensuing drama unfolds? Actually, I don't think any of the characters in that group would care, since Hy'ka's all tolerant and all... And R'ner doesn't strike me as that type (but if he is, correct me). And H'vas i'm not sure of, but he doesn't seem like that kind of man.

Ember can stalk Evander, certainly. Maybe if she and Tiffanie tried to gang up on the silly Scot?

Faizah: I agree there. And they already know each other because of the whole sketchbook thing. Them actually talking face to face would be a nice addition, and we can assume that they are still doing the sketchbook thing. Maybe they've already filled a sketchbook or two?

With N'lon, Z'volm's definitely not the kind of man to be tied to one person, the little... flirt. So I can see him possibly jumping back and forth between Liam and N'lon, though I'd love to see his finished profile before deciding on anything.

Yeah, i can see how it could be a delicate proceeding. But I dont think his gruffness would scare her away if she really did like him. So if you want to try it out, im all for it ^.^

I'd say that ALL weyrlings would be encouraged to not be virgins, but to wait until their dragon is almost at puberty.

It's said somewhere...I think in Dragonseye...that green weyrlings have to be extra careful because sexual activity on the part of the rider can cause the dragon to rise early and then do herself an injury.

(Which is why it bugs the heck out of me when games require Candidates be celibate when really, the exact opposite would be the case and Kylara's bed hopping was seen as a good thing (until she couldn't tell them who her child's father was, which was considered a little much)).

I think that the games required the Candidates to be celibate because come Hatching time, your Candidate won't be allowed to Stand at the Hatching if she were pregnant. You have to remember that they don't exactly have contraceptives in Pern and the only preventive/abortive procedure would be to go Between riding a dragon to kill whatever viable fetus was forming in the womb at the time. It's one of the reasons why female dragonriders don't get pregnant as easily as Weyrfolk, Holdfolk, or Hallfolk.

However, since we are on Earth, I think that as Candidates, they should be encouraged to have their first sexual encounter with proper usage of contraceptives so that the females don't get pregnant before they Impress. However, once Impressed, the Weyrlings should be extra careful since they wouldn't want their young dragonets to either rise early, injure themselves during the mating flight, or panic about what they are feeling and go Between blindly.

And...yeah. No opinion/addition on the sexual activities of candidates from this cat, right. Though...generally...I thought it was more goldriders who were told to be...prepared, as it was the strongest and most consuming (mentally) sort of flight...but I suppose a greens first rising would be just as difficult, even if it were less of a pull on the surrounding riders?

EDIT: R'ner/Hy'ka/H'vas...well. If something were to happen between R'ner and Hy'ka, then it would be...well, all R'ner's fault if it became a love triangle. If I remember correctly, R'ner and Noxceventh won Cherath's (and thusly H'vas) flight once before...so he's sort of been there. But that was before H'vas switched players...so I don't know if that's still to be counted.

But if it IS, it could spell amusement all around.

Reine/Houka: I have to agree with Reine on that, though Houka does have a good point. The most that I can recall about candidates and weyrlings in sexual relationships would have to be anything that I've read from Pern RPs, and admittedly, it's not that much. -shrugs- Can't say I have a definite side in the argument.

Red: Do you have any ideas for threads for any characters, then? I can start a few. I'm getting... nothing. Though I just remembered that we had plans for a Sasha/Keltin thread? And I haven't heard anything from Wolfy yet, so R'ner/H'vas/Hy'ka might be on hold... if it ever works out?

T'sai is a real caring guy who doesn't say much until he gets to know you, and then he's rather talkative. He has a habit of coming off as aloof because of his incredible politeness and withdrawn personality. (Bisexual)

Gregory is action personified. He is a thrill seeker that speaks his mind much to most people's chagrin. Under all his bravado Gregory is actually a good guy whose more awkward than insensitive. (Homosexual)

Liam and Z'volm...not sure. Amused, but not sure. Um. I suppose either would be likely to meet and possibly just insult eachother before someone (probably not Liam, but I don't know) suggests something else?

Meh. I can only think of really dumb intro-type scenarios. Still, i can make an intro for Sasha/Keltin if you like. We can rather just see where it goes?
