Divka was sitting by the side of the lake, staring at the water intently. Suddenly something large and gold burst free of the water and splashed her. She laughed while her gold Laskath bugled out her laughter.
Divka ran over to the tree where she had hung her bag. It was far enough away to be kept safe from any playful water fights and close enough for her to keep an eye on it. Laskath landed, shaking the water from her skin, her eyes whirling a playful blue and yellow.
Divka grinned at her dragon. "Are you ready to go back now, Laskath?"
"Do we have to, Dear one? Im getting hungry.
Divka laughed. "If you stopped growing, you wouldnt feel the need to eat half of the Weyrs livestock."
Laskath's eyes whirled green. I do not! There are other dragons my size as well! I dont hear you blaming them!
Divka smiled at her. "Ok, ok! Point taken. Lets go get you something to eat." With that Divka jumped to the back of her gold. "Soon I will have to use your legs to get up, you mighty dragon." she said while Laskath's multi-faceted eyes turned a pleasing pink.
Laskath took off, flying to the nearby feeding grounds. As soon as Divka's feet hit the ground she was airborn again, ready to hunt down her favorite food. Vnitrni flicked in from between and landed on her shoulder. She pulled some dried jerky out of her bag and fed it to him while waiting for Laskath to finish her meal.

[ooc: If you're using the tags with the # sign in them, try taking the sign out. I had the same problem too. Ya'know, assuming that's the problem.] The sky was only slightly cloudy today, and it had recently drizzled. Nothing too heavy, just a light rain that made objects and people damp, but a snap to dry off. Hy'ka rubbed his chin, taking note of the small stubble. It was short and precise, much like Hy'ka's one-track mind. He was at the feeding grounds for his blue, Brynath, who decided he was going to be hungry today. Hy'ka's boots sunk into the wet dirt by the fence of the herdbeast--wait these are cows, right?--corral. Whatever they are, I like them,Brynath's voice entered the weyrling's mind. The blue was inside the pen. He paused in his stalking of a herdbeast to look over at Hy'ka with hungry red eyes. They are not as hairy as the ones back home; have you noticed that? But they appear the same... With that, he returned to his stalking, creeping after an older beast to take down. Whatever you say. They do look about the same, but hey, I’m not the one who ate them raw. Hy’ka shrugged. I prefer mine cooked. Some nice herdbeast stew… Hy’ka inhaled deeply, wanting to enjoy more of that stew he grew up to love... To his side, a huge golden dragon touched down, and her rider jumped off with such grace... Such elegance befitting a Queen rider! Brynath, my fellow bisexual dear, you should watch out for that queen. Make your kill soon, or wait for the gold to finish. Hy'ka cautioned. He stepped down from the fence to inch sideways towards the goldrider, admiring her slim figure. She was nearly his age, so why not, right? I will finish this one off soon then. And the only thing stopping you is her dragon. A blue like me has hardly a chance of Catching a glorious gold. Brynath quit his stalking to pounce swiftly onto the cow's back, pinning the smaller beast down with his claws and weight. An instant kill resulted from the blue biting into the cow's thick neck. On the spot, the blue began to rip apart the bleeding carcass and swallow bits whole. As if out of nowhere, a brown flitter zoomed into view, nabbed a bit of the herdbeast between his claws, and tore it off, only to stuff the piece into his maw while still flying. Kivral! If you must...Hy'ka ignored the blue and the brown, turning his mind towards the goldrider. "Hello Goldrider... Wonderful day, is it not? You are looking as fine as ever," he lied, having just arrived at Rocky Weyr recently, and thus has never seen this rider before, "As is your golden beast."

Divka turned to the new arrival and blinked. "Why, hello. It is a wonderful day isnt it? Laskath over there just finished swimming and decided to get something to eat." She smiled at the new person, curiousity in her eyes. "I dont think Ive met you before. My name is Divka." she told him. Dear one? Do you need me? Laskath asked her, lifting her head to look at her rider. Divka waved her off. No my dear. But if you want, why dont you make friends with that lovely colored blue? It doesnt hurt to get to know the other inhabitants, does it? She could feel Laskath's amusement as she swung her head to look at the blue dragon, which had a hint of green in the light. Divka laughed softly to herself before turning back to hear the boys name. Her flit, Vnitrni, swopped off of her shoulder to go steal some of Laskath's kill while she was distracted.

"Yes, it is beauitful," Hy'ka commented, raising an eyebrow as he responded to the goldrider. While he may have been referring to the weather, he certainly wasn't looking at the weather. "So you are Divka, and your gold is Laskath. Pleased to meet you!" the blue weyrling said with a short, flourishing bow. "I am Hy'ka, and my oddly colored blue is Brynath. He may seem like a normal blue, but when the sun hits his hide juuust right, he shines green. He's both male and female..." Hy'ka trailed off after blabbering.
Brynath buried his snout into the carcass of the cow, staining his maw with the red blood. Kivral, having not been told off by the blue dragon, joined in the feeding by sitting directly on the shoulder of the fallen herdbeast. Hy'ka... Brynath began, warning His to be careful, though he left it at that. With a gold around, the Queen would be sure to put Hy'ka in his place, right? She would to any lower ranking color... Greetings, Gold Laskath. I am Brynath. Hy'ka is Mine. Brynath lifted his head from the slain herdbeast and licked his lips, cleaning off some of the blood. Next to him, Kivral kept eating, paying to mind to his larger cousins.
Hy'ka glanced at Laskath. "She's in great condition. Why was she brought here, to Rocky Weyr?" he had to ask the gold rider. "I mean, with Brynath, he hatched both male and female. We were told he was a hermaphrodite, or something like that." Hy'ka shrugged, brushing off the words. "I guess that's reason enough to send us to Rocky."

Divka smiled at him politely. "Laskath doesnt have any defects. She was born in Isle Weyr and thats were I impressed her." She ran her hand through her hair to keep it in place as a small wind blew around them. She closed her eyes for a minute to enjoy it.
Laskath looked at the blue, curious about its color. She and her rider wasnt particularly worried about a dragons color yet since she had yet to have her first Flight. Her tail flicked back in forth and her mult-faceted eyes swirled blue
Divka would be mine rider. Your different than most dragons.
Divka sent her gold a warning glance. Try not to be rude, Dear one. she chided her but Laskath ignored her, instead looking at the blue in interest.
Divka sighed and turned back to Hy'ka. "By the way, my name is Divka. The little blue firelizard over there is named Vnitrni." She said, waving her arm to include the little firelizard sneaking some of Divka's food.

"Yes, Divka. You said that already. Forgive me if it seems like I've forgotten..." Hy'ka acted normal, but his face said something else. "So Laskath is in perfect condition. Why are you here then?" he asked, slightly confused. "I thought onlydragonets who hatched oddly were sent here? I am thoroughly lost." Hy'ka crossed his arms, and looked around the feeding grounds, at the weyr in general.
Divka would be mine rider. You're different than most dragons.
Yes, I am different than most dragons, Laskath. Brynath unfurled his wings to hold them out. He waved them in the sunlight. It is as Hy'ka said; I am both male and female. Blue and green, he explained, showing the gold his blue-green shimmering wings. Do you see? But I am a normal dragon none the less... the blue rumbled deeply, showing that he didn't mind the curosity of the gold.
The blue weyrling glanced over his shoulder at Brynath, picking up a bit of his emotions. "If you're worried about Laskath bothering Brynath, he doesn't mind. He's gotten it a lot. ... Just going off of Brynath's feelings, that is." Hy'ka smiled warmly.

Divka looked at her gold affectionately. "Truthfully, I dont know. They just brought me here. But I cant complain. She is my family, and it makes me happy beyond belief that she's healthy. I just hope that some of the other dragon riders here dont condemn her for it." She looked away, sadness in her eyes. "I dont think I could bear it if she wasnt happy." Sensing her emotions, Laskath bugled out a warning and her eyes swirled blue with a hint of red. Are they distressing you, Mine heart?! No, no thats not it! Please calm yourself Dear one! I am fine, merely thinking about unpleasant things is all. Ill stop now, I promise. Laskath calmed down but kept one eye fixed on Divka while she continued to look at blue Brynath's unusual skin coloration. Divka sighed and turned to Hy'ka. "I apologize, she is overly protective."

Hy'ka let out a short burst of laughter. "Hah! It's fine!" he certainly took a step back when Laskath growled a warning, but he laughed the uneasy feeling off. "Aren't all dragons overly protective? I mean, what would they do if we were to die? It's a strong bond that riders and their dragons share.. Shame if people would try to break that bond. And of course, it's good to see you treat your dragon like family. Laskath is your family of course.. Of course you want the best for her." Hy'ka lovingly looked over at his own Brynath.
And you want the best for me, Brynath finished for Hy’ka. He too had shrunk back at the loud bugle of the queen, but immediately stepped back up. Do not worry, lovely gold--Hy'ka would never try to hurt anyone. He is much too nice. That is why I chose to bond to him. He may be direct at times, but it's never intentional, Brynath reassured Laskath, though her rider did a better job of calming her down. He was still holding out his wings, slightly swaying in the breeze that accompanied the day.
Brynath…! Hy’ka protested to his dragon, but didn’t follow up on it. “Oh I nearly forgot, that brown firelizard by Brynath is my own Kivral. He’s an interesting one, to be sure… Aside from Brynath. Kivral!” Hy’ka called to the flitter. “Come here, you rascal…” Hy’ka motioned for the firelizard to fly over, but what the weyrling got in return was a rejecting snort and the brown winked between. “Ah.. He tends to do that. He only comes if I really want him to come. Otherwise, he likes to stay away from me.”

A soft puff of breath misted the air briefly as Skirth panted gently. He wasn't tried; the panting was a marking of his amusement as he trotted ahead of His. Come, Liam! I am hungry! If you do not keep up, I will not share!
"You're always hungry!" Liam couldn't help but smile at the brown prancing like an excited puppy before him, and he just waved an arm at the dragon dismissively. "Go on, get something. I don't want to keep your belly from food any longer, love."
Skirth bobbed his head happily and galloped along the semi-path towards the feeding grounds. The young dragon's black hide glittered with little bits of onyx as he dislodged water from the tree branches lining the path and the scattered across his wings and back. Every so often Skirth would snap playfully at one of them. When he finally caught one, he startled backwards, shaking his head and spitting out the bits of evergreen. Tastes nasty! He sent to Liam pitifully, making a face and running his tongue along his teeth.
"Yes, dear. That's because Pine trees are not generally for eating. Weren't there pines on Pern?" I don't know. Maybe. I did not EAT them! The dragon looked sadly at Liam, trying for sympathy. He was distracted almost immediately (such a little child, he was, always more interested in the next new adventure than in the here and now) when the pair came into view of the feeding grounds.
Oh! I smell...Halderoth? No, this is different. It is not Halderoth, but one like it. Skirth padded over to the pens, bobbing his head in greeting to the gold and the blue, before pouncing on a small sheep. Hello, Laskath! He greeted the queen respectfully, but his stomach got the better of him and he munched on the ewe with gusto. And greetings Blue-who-Is-Not-Halderoth.
Liam took a bit longer to reach the pens, lacking the obvious advantage of Skirth's longer legs. He wasn't sure about interrupting the riders already seemingly involved in conversation, but Skirth caught his thoughts about leaving and sent him private pleas to stay. So he strode over to the fence, keeping a slight distance from the pair. He thought he recognized the elegant goldrider with the red hair, but he couldn't quite recall her name; only that she was the one from the other Earth Weyr. The bluerider he didn't recognize at all, but the young man certainly didn't seem to be unfamiliar with the area. "Afternoon." He murmured by way of greeting, going to lean on the fence rather lazily.

Divka smiled at his little Firelizard. "My own Vnitrni usually only comes when he wants to rest from playing all day, or wants one of the treats I keep for him. I dont know what he's out doing when he isnt pestering poor Laskath but whatever it is, it certainly keeps him entertained."
She caught herself and apologized. "Im afraid when it comes to talking about Laskath or Vnitrni I tend to ramble."
Just then she heard someone say "Afternoon."
Divka turned to the Rider who had just spoken and smiled. "Hello. Thats a lovely brown you have." She said, turning to watch it feed.
Your name is... Skirth is it not?
Laskath turned to look at the brown before chasing Vnitrni off with her tail, taking a few more bites of her meal before letting him settle again, ignoring his little trills of annoyance.
If you dont like it, catch your own food. She told the little blue. It ignored her, eating some more of the food before jumping up and taking flight in between.
How is your meal, Dear one? Laskaths eye's swirled a pleasing blue. I was not expecting so much company, but I do not mind. I havent had the chance to talk to many dragons since coming here.

A darkly-colored dragon soon entered the pen, long before his rider was in view. He dipped his head in greeting to Laskath and Brynath. Out of respect, Brynath nodded his own head. He didn’t know who this dragon was, but he seemed to know the gold. That was just as well.. Blue-who-is-not-Halderoth? Brynath inquired, leaving his kill largely untouched because he was now curious about why the dark-colored dragon said he was not Halderoth. Brynath didn’t even know who Halderoth was! Another dragon that the blue had yet to meet. My name is Brynath, and Hy'ka over there is Mine. Who are you, oddly-colored dragon? Brynath asked.
"Afternoon," a quiet voice said.
"Yes, I guess I don't mind what Kivral does, as long as he's entertained, and doesn't bother anyone." Hy'ka nodded, agreeing with Divka's comment about her own firelizard. "Rambling is quite alright with me.." He finished up his sentence before turning his attention to the newcomer to the feeding grounds. "Good afternoon to you as well. I assume that is your.. Um. Black dragon? Judging by his size, he's like a brown.. But is he?" Hy'ka wondered, staring at the new dragon that he had yet to meet. "Oh, I am Hy'ka, by the way," he added, following Brynath's direction, "and Brynath is my blue over there."

Skirth paused from his meal to give a playful look at Brynath and Laskath again. Yes. I am Skirth. Mine is called Liam, but he does not talk much. He sat back on his haunches and licked the blood from his mouth, trying to be at least somewhat dignified if front of the Queen and the newly-introduced blue. I am sorry. I called you by a wrong name. Halderoth smells like you. Blue-but-with-green, though It does not smell so blue as you.
Liam sent the dragon a questioning look, wondering for a moment how exactly Skirth could apparently tell the dragins apart by color. Or maybe he was referring to the male/female differentiation. Skirth simply replied with a wordless and rather smug assurance of his skills.
Liam spread his hands and sighed, a gesture of defeat. "I'm Liam. The ...well, yeah. Black works, though...he's technically a brown. He's Skirth, at any rate." He shrugged rather nervously, not quite sure how to explain Skirth. "He was born with something called melanism. Darkened him straight to solid black. Normally you can almost see hints of brown, but the light's not terribly strong today. Clouds, I think." He dismissed the thought with a brief wave of his hand. "Whatever it is. Anyway, he's...black. Though that's not why we're at Rocky."
As if to demonstrate, Skirth opened his mouth and let out a bugle- or would have, but all that came out was a soft his of air. I have no voice. He sent to the others nonchalantly. The dragonhealer said I shall not chew stone, either. But I do not care. Here is more interesting. And Liam is here. So I think I shall stay.

Divka looked at the brown curiously. "It could be worse. I hear that some dragons came here because they would never fully mature, or became blind or some such." She looked over at her own gold and felt her pride well up inside her.
Have I ever told you how glorious you are Laskath?
Laskath softly flapped her wings self consciously and sent Divka happy feelings. As are you, Dear one. Divka smiled affectionately at her while Laskath turned back to the other dragons.
Divka followed suit, looking at her two companions. "So, do you think they will relocate us? I think I heard someone speaking of it not to long ago."

Brynath looked over at the rider who Hy'ka and Divka were talking to. That must be Liam, Skirth's bonded. You are Skirth, Brynath repeated with a nod. He would have to try to remember this dragon. It is fine. I must meet this "Halderoth" who smells like me. He is blue and green too? And you are brown, but black. Odd that you have no voice either. Brynath’s swirled slowly with bits of alarmed yellow. He reached forward with his snout to look at Skirth a bit more closely. At this point, he lowered his wings to fold them loosely against his back and sides. Kivral had eaten his fill of Brynath’s meal, and was now struggling to stay airborne, having eaten so much.
“He’s technically a brown, but he looks black. Interesting. And he cannot make any noise? That’s a shame. Skirth is like my Brynath there—Brynath looks blue, and is classified as a blue, but he is both male and female. He’s a hermaphrodite. That’s what we were told.” Hy’ka shrugged. “Never heard of such a term, but ya’know,” he muttered, as if the others would know what he was talking about. At Divka’s mention of worse defects, Hy’ka had to agree. “Yes. There are some worse-off dragonets out there. I’m grateful just to get a dragon. Back home, it’s a high honor,” he pointed out. “There are many a candidate that goes Turns without Impressing a dragon. Of course, it all has to do with clutch size, and finding the right dragon. Same goes for the dragon. If the right candidate isn’t there, pfft, the hatchling goes between. It’s a sad moment for the weyr…”
With the end of the last sentence, Brynath let out a small croon, feeling a tinge of pain at the thought of losing a clutchmate like that. All without finding His or Hers. They would be alone forever. The blue’s head fell forward as he thought of what would happen if Hy’ka were to pass away. I am glad I found you, Hy'ka, he said privately to his rider.
As am I, Brynath. “But yes, even of this depressing topic… Relocation, you say?” Hy’ka gave Divka a funny look. “Why would they relocate us? And where? For the most part, all of the dragons here have some kind of problem, be it awful threadscore, or they were born with it. What could we do? Brynath will hopefully grow to be a normal dragon, as normal as he gets, but what about the others? If I were to be relocated, I’d rather be sent back to Pern. It’d be nice to see my family again.” Hy’ka let out a short sigh. “But I guess it’s all up to the weyrleaders.”

The black dragon darted his head away to regard Hy'ka with some intrest when he mentioned Brynath's coloring and so-called defect. Not quite. You are BOTH blue and green. Halderoth is Neither. He paused, and gave the blue a draconic expression of annoyance. Why is it odd I do not have a voice? Is it really so strange?
Liam laughed softly at the mention of Skirth's not having a voice being a shame. "Maybe to some. I happen to enjoy the quiet, to be honest." he siald with a smile aimed mostly at his partner of dragon. When the bluerider began talking about the loss of Dragons at hatchings, Liam regarded Hy'ka with some concern. "Really? That's rough. I can't imagine..." He was quiet for a moment, then shook his head. "Either way. On the subject of relocation; perhaps they will. If your queen keeps developing as steadily as she seems to be, maybe they'll start a second Weyr." He shook his head after a moment. "Or have they already? I'm still a little behind on my information." He spread his hands in a gesture of defeat. "But I assume Kain and Faizah will be good enough to tell us beforehand if they do. They seemed courteous enough to do so, anyway."
Skirth yawned hugely, then mantled his wings and stretched, flexing his claws and arching his back like a cat. That feels better. He glanced quizzically at Brynath, then stuck out his neck to snort almost daintily back at the blue. Do I pass inspection? he said, a swirl of mirthful turquoise running through his eyes.

Divka smiled at her Laskath. "I havent found a dragon yet, other than the fully grown ones of course, thats been able to match her in size. Though with the way she eats Im not surprised." she said teasingly.
Laskath turned to her rider and snorted some air at her.
I eat when Im hungry Dear one. Which is more than I can say for you, especially when you get distracted by something.
Laskath blinked innocently at her dragon.
I dont know what your talking about Love. I always eat when I feel like it.
Laskath snorted. Dont you mean when you remember, Dear one?
Divka blushed slightly and grinned sheepishly at Laskath.
Fair enough I suppose.
Laskath gave a little rumble of amusement.
As mine rider you need to take better care of yourself.
Divka ignored her dragons pestering and turned back to the others. She turned to Hy'ka.
"Ive never been to Pern before, though Ive heard stories. Perhaps you would tell me about it sometime? From what I hear, life up there is a lot different than on Earth."

Gorth flew towards the Feeding Grounds. Kain looked at him in bewilderment before speaking. I thought we were going to the lake... Gorth laughed slightly while he landed far enough away to be curteous of the Weyrlings and their feeding dragonettes. I am hungry... We will fly to the lake after I have eaten. Kain nodded as he dismounted, telling Gorth to take his time. Then Kain approached the Weyrlings. Normally he didn't see them much, preferring to be by himself or with Gorth and Hobbs. Faizah delt more with the Weyrlings that he did; she actually liked having more than the dragons and flits to talk to. Kain chuckled to himself, his head bobbing up and down once. Faizah was different alright, but Rocky Weyr and ultimately Gorth and Surth, wouldn't have propered on Earth if it had not been for her.
As he approached the Weyrlings he gave a half wave. "Hello. May I join your conversation?" He asked politely.

Brynath paid attention to Skirth’s description of Halderoth. Halderoth is neither. I understand that now. I suppose I should still meet Halderoth. It would be interesting to meet another dragon who is similar to me, wouldn't you say so? he asked no one in particular. When Skirth asked if it was strange that he had no voice, Brynath cocked his head. It is strange, and odd. I thought all dragons had a voice. But I also thought all dragons were one gender. I guess I am wrong, he ended with a small grunt. You do pass inspection, by the way. Brynath let out a short, mirthful bugle.
"If you like the quiet, then a quiet dragon is a good match!" Hy'ka chuckled, trying to lighten the mood. "I agree with you on that, Liam. The Weyrleader and the Weyrwoman do appear courteous enough to let us know. I'm sure they would too, else risk the disapproval of many a rider and weyrling. No surprise that you haven't been able to find a dragon to match her size!" The corners of Hy'ka lips up-turned in a quick smile. "As a gold, she's going to grow very fast. I hope you've been oiling her hide nearly everyday..." Hy'ka finished with a skeptical eye.
Hy'ka, you are Mine, not some Gold's, Brynath reminded the weyrling gently. Don't butt into her affairs. Unless of course, you want me to try and Catch her when she Rises.. I could always try, even if I doubt I would. Brynath analyzed the gold, looking up at her elegantly-shaped head, and following her neck down to the tip of her forked tail. As a gold, she was largely built, thus the smaller browns and blues wouldn't be able to keep up with her stamina. But they certainly could try.
Brynath! You know I only mean well! As he was currently distracted, Hy'ka nearly missed the question posed by Divka: if he would share some stories and information about Pern. "For a lovely lady, I sure would. I would be happy to share stories about Pern. You are right, it is very different from Earth." Hy'ka gave the gold weyrling a flirtatious grin. "Oh, but I cannot forget handsome dear Liam over there." Hy'ka stepped forward, and grabbed the brown weyrling's hand, in an attempt to pull him closer to the small group. "If you want to know what life on Pern was like, feel free to ask."
If you say so, Hy'ka. Gorth comes. Brynath lifted his head to watch the bronze fly into the feeding grounds. No longer trying to fly away, Kivral was content to fall asleep on the back of Brynath, who in turn ignored the little firelizard. At this moment, Brynath remembered that he had his meal to finish off. Before another conversation could start up between the dragons, Brynath shoved his snout into the fallen herdbeast, ripping off chunks to swallow whole. Kain is with him.
"Weyrleader Kain!" Hy'ka greeted the older man with a wide smile. "Of course you're allowed to join this conversation. What kind of disrespectful weyrlings would we be if we didn't allow our weyrleader to talk to us? Come on over here!" Hy'ka dropped his grip on Liam's hand to wave the bronzerider over.

Divka shook her head. "Of course I rub her down daily. If I didnt, she would pester me about itchy skin. Who wants their dragons to suffer so?"
Dont take offense Dear One. It only proves he cares about other dragons.
Divka grinned sheepishly at her dragon.
I know your right dear Heart. Surely they know by looking at you that I would never mistreat you. Your the only family I have after all.
Laskaths eyes whirled a comforting blue and she turned to bugle a greeting to the newly arrived bronze dragon.
Divka sighed and worried again that Laskath wouldnt have a successful first Flight. She shook the thought from her head and looked at Kain. She smiled and held out her hand.
"I dont know if we've been properly introduced yet. My name is Divka and my gold over there is Laskath."
At that point in time, Vnitrni popped in out of Between and landed on her outstretched hand. She glared at him and shook her hand a little, but he clung on and trilled playfully at her. She sighed and brought her hand in again.
"I apologize. He's a playful little flit."

Kain nodded again before answering the enthusiastic Pernese boy. "Weyrleader or not, on Earth it is proper manners to ask to join a conversation." then he turned to Divka and bowed slightly at the waist, taking her hand and kissing it lightly on the knuckles. "And a pleasure it is to meet you dear Divka, Laskath." As he addressed the gold dragonette Kain also turned towards her. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Gorth make a kill and began gorging on it. He felt suddenly sorry. Gorth must not have eaten in a while to be famished as this...

Divka blushed slightly when her hand was kissed but otherwise remained composed. She looked over at Gorth and smiled while Laskath made the proper respectful greetings. "You have a wonderful bronze." she said, looking up at him. She blinked. He's awfully... tall isnt he? she thought to her Laskath and she heard her give a bugle of amusement. Gorth is no hatchling either, Dear one. Divka couldnt help but laugh a little at that. No, I dont suppose he is. Vnitrni had flown to her shoulder, trilling in her ear. She sighed and scratched him on the back where she knew he liked it. "Dont be scoldy with me little one." she murmured. "I was only being polite." Eventually his trilling turned to more of a purring sound and he flew off to land next to Gorth. She eyed him warily. Watch him Dear one? It looks like he's going to try to steal some food...

Liam paused for a second to stare blankly at his hand, then at Hy'ka, raising an eyebrow. "Erm. Right then...I'm interested in whatever you have to say about Pern, if you've got something to share." He was possibly going to say more, but Kain's arrival distracted him.
He sketched a lazy wave of greeting at the weyrleader, and did indeed move closer to the small group. "Afternoon, sir."
Skirth yawned hugely, and finished his meal much more slowly than he'd begun. Socialize, Liam. If you don't talk to anyone, why will they talk to you? He sounded innocent, but Liam frowned at the light note of teasing in his tone. The dragon began cleaning himself, licking the remains of his lunch from his claws, then sidling over to the large Bronze. Greetings, Gorth! Look I am bigger, now! He said proudly. He crouched a respectful distance from the bronze as the larger male ate, but his stance made it clear her was fascinated by the older dragon.
Liam just laughed softly, and turned his attention back to the conversation. It didn't seem as if he'd missed terribly much. "Hy'ka..." he said, tentatively. "If you don't mind, may I ask you a few things?"

At Divka’s curt reply, Hy’ka chuckled. “Of course you do. I don’t mean any offence. The moaning of an itchy dragonet isn’t the best thing to hear, I agree.” Hy’ka grinned, glancing over at where Brynath was finishing his meal. “Ah, customs. Silly things, if you ask me,” he let out a sharp bark of laughter, throwing up his hands in an exaggerated shrug.
Hy'ka... Brynath started with a sigh. You really should respect customs more. You grew up with customs on Pern. You know, the white robes at hatching. I remember finding you on the sands. You were dressed in all white. That much I remember. Brynath now started to finish up the last bits of the cow, pleased with the lack of fur, unlike the ones on Pern. All furry, and it would get stuck in his teeth if he wasn’t careful. He stepped back from the fallen beast, jostling Kivral on his back. Sorry Kivral, but you should not sleep on my back, the blue muttered, and yawned widely, his blood-stained teeth showing. With his belly full, the blue was now tired, and ready for a nap. The company of the other dragons though, wasn’t going to allow him to sleep. Maybe he shouldn’t have eaten so much?
Yes, but I remember that you nosed me for food until I took you to the kitchens. Then you proceeded to eat whatever came near your mouth. Nearly including Kivral! Hy'ka protested, sending horrified thoughts to both Brynath and the brown firelizard from across the feeding grounds.
"Hy'ka... If you don't mind, may I ask you a few things?"
With wide and questioning eyes, Hy'ka pulled his attention away from his own blue to see who was talking to him. It was Liam, the weyrling of brown Skirth. "Go on," he began, "I don't mind questions. It's how one learns. We were encouraged to ask questions at our candidate lessons.. To make sure we knew all about the dragons that we would be Impressing." Hy'ka gave Liam a satisfied nod. "Now then, you had a question?"

Kain inclined his head in Liam's direction, listening intently to what would possibly become a conversation about Pern. He wanted to know if much had changed since he and gorth had been there years ago.
Greetings to you, Skirth. I see you have grown. Soon you will be a massive brown and fearsome in the skies. Gorth greeted the black brown dragonette.

Kiara was nervous as she followed Remth to the feeding grounds. Caine was perched on her shoulder, trying to break a clam open with his teeth, but being unsuccessful so far. When the little blue saw the people ahead he launched himself towards them, and Remth gave a small dragon chuckle as the blue landed on the tallest person there. Quickly the blue flitter began sniffing the man's hair.
"Caine!" Kiara yelled in horror as she hurried forward. She was unable to grab the flit because of the man's size however.
Remth came up then. Do not fret so minelove. If the man does not want dear Caine around him, he will tell the littleblueone so. The wingless green was so calm, it sometimes made Kiara wonder.
